Overview – General Terms

This page provides an easy-to-read summary of Memoarguiden’s terms, and how the process normally works. The full terms can be found under the linked Terms and Conditions (Full Text/PDF).

Process and Phases
​
The Project is normally carried out in the following phases:
Phase 0 – Introductory Meeting
Phase 1 – Kick-off Meeting & Project Planning
Phase 2 – Production Phase
Phase 3 – Closing Phase (Text)
Phase 4 – Layout Phase
Phase 5 – Print Phase
Phase 6 – Delivery & Project Close
The typical timeline is eight (8) months from the first interview, provided the participants follow the agreed schedule.

Rights, Discretion & Confidentiality

Memoarguiden operates with the highest standards of discretion. All material shared by either party during the exploratory phase is treated as strictly confidential and is protected under applicable Swedish copyright, data protection, and trade secret legislation, including the Swedish Copyright Act (1960:729), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), and the Swedish Trade Secrets Act (2018:558). Ownership remains unchanged. Materials, relationships, and working methods introduced by Memoarguiden form part of a protected professional framework and may not be used, disclosed, or pursued outside Memoarguiden without prior written consent, regardless of whether the parties proceed to a formal engagement. Upon commencement of a project, the collaboration transitions into a formal assignment governed by a separate written Engagement Agreement.

Fact-Checking and Distribution of the Book
​
The book is normally intended for private use. If it is distributed outside a private circle, legal and/or emotional consequences may arise, especially for individuals mentioned in the book. If the Customer wishes to publish or distribute the book publicly (in print, media, or online), a separate legal review and any required consents should be obtained. Memoarguiden is a literary services provider not a publisher and may, by separate agreement, assist in arranging such a review.​​​
​Memoarguiden does not verify facts, statements, or claims in the manuscript unless fact-checking and/or historical context services have been requested separately. However, a light review is always included in every project to ensure quality (for example reviewing place names, years, and key events necessary for Memoarguiden to deliver accurate text). The Customer is responsible for final approval.

Payment and Currency
​
The Project’s main currency is EUR. If prices or examples are shown in another currency, any conversion is made using the European Central Bank (ECB) reference exchange rate on the invoice date. Payment is normally made per phase in advance, unless otherwise agreed in writing. If payment is not received, Memoarguiden has the right to pause work until payment has been received.

Additional Services (Examples)
​
Examples of optional add-ons include additional; interviews, images, extra copies of the book and further editing/h (according to price list or agreement), fact-checking, historical context, and photo restoration, audio files or attributes.

Delays, Pauses, and Cancellation
​
If the Project is delayed, an extension fee may apply under the full terms. Memoarguiden and/or the Customer may pause the Project due to unforeseen obstacles or if either party is unavailable for an extended period, as set out in the full terms. The Customer has the right to cancel the Project within fourteen (14) days of ordering. After this period, the Customer may cancel in accordance with the terms, with any refund linked to phases not yet started and calculated according to the rules set out in the full terms.

Copyright
The Narrator retains copyright to their content and the final product as specified in the offer/quote. Memoarguiden retains ownership only of its method, process, format, design, templates, and trademarks.
